Plot:
Siddharth “Sid” Mehra (Ranbir Kapoor) is the spoiled, care-free son of wealthy businessman Ram Mehra (Anupam Kher). A resident of Mumbai, his only interest is to have fun with friends and to spend his father’s money. Thus, he spends little time at college and is not prepared for the exit exams. His father however, not being aware of this fact, tells Sid it is time to join his company, which Sid reluctantly does only after his father tempts him with the promise of a new car.

Plot:
Aladin Chatterjee (Riteish Deshmukh) lives in the fictional city of Khwaish, an orphan who has been bullied by Kasim and his gang members since his childhood. But his life changes when Jasmine (Jacqueline Fernandez) gives him a magic lamp – because it lets loose the genie Genius (Amitabh Bachchan). Desperate to grant him three wishes and to seek the end of his contract with the magic lamp, the rock-star Genius makes Aladin’s life difficult until the real threat looms on the horizon – the ex-genie, Ringmaster (Sanjay Dutt).

With the help of Jasmine, Aladin and Genius work together to defeat Ringmaster. In the end Aladin earns powers from the lamp.

The story was written 20 years ago by Salman Khan, who called it his dream project.[9] At the time Khan planned to direct the film himself and cast Sanjay Dutt in the lead role.[10] Veer is also partly based on the Russian novel Taras Bulba by Nikolai Gogol.[6] For his role as Veer, Salman Khan went on a special diet and worked out with a personal trainer[11] in order to almost double his total weight.[citation needed] For her role as a 19th century princess, Zarine Khan put on eight kilos of extra weight.[12]

Principal photography for Veer began on 1 December 2008. Portions of the film were originally scheduled to be shot at the College of Engineering and the Agricultural College in Pune, but due to the swine flue outbreak the locations were moved to Mumbai.[13] Other location shooting took place in Jaipur and Bikaner. Location shooting at Amber Fort in Jaipur was also interrupted when several onlookers were injured and the Rajasthan High Court ordered a halt to filming. A case was filed against Anil Sharma accusing the film crew of damaging the fort, violating several conservation laws and causing the structure’s 500-year-old roof to collapse.[14] The crew finished their shoot after paying Rs. 20 lakh in damages.[1
