Plot:

Jyothi Lingam (Mahesh) is a bright student and son of a mason who leads a happy life in his village near Tirunelveli. One day tragedy strikes as his father the only earning member dies in an accident while crossing an unmanned railway gate, and young boy now has to look after his mother and two sisters.

Due to circumstances, he is forced to abandon his studies, though he comes first in his school in the board exam. Through a canvassing agent, he and his friend Marimuthu, get jobs as sales boys in a textile showroom in Ranganathan Street in Chennai.

Plot:

Lazy, alcoholic and unemployed Pratap Narayan Tilak (Nana Patekar), who at a very young age was thrown out of his village by his mother for disobeying her orders, meets famous journalist Meghna Dixit (Dimple Kapadia). Megha persuades Pratap to be a champion of justice for those around him, defend their rights and make them independent. However, he runs into strong resistance, from within his very own community, the police, and some very powerful and influential politicians. Unable to bear the injustice, Pratap decides to take the law into his own hands, resulting in chaos and violence, thus giving rise to a saga of revenge and corruption within his own people.

Plot:
Gol Maal could be translated as “Risky/Crooked Business” or “Hanky Panky”. It is the story of a fun loving and happy-go-lucky guy Ramprasad Dashrathprasad Sharma (Amol Palekar), who is a Chartered Accountant and is out looking for a job. His uncle advises him to seek employment at his friend Bhavani Shankar’s (Utpal Dutt) firm. Shankar is a very strict person, abhors recommendation for jobs, has a fascination for Indian values, displays a vehement stance against sports-mania amongst the youth (but is a sports fan himself) and the cultural arts, and considers sporting a moustache as a sign of pride. He believes that a moustache represents one’s conscience. Mr Shankar is willing to pay a few hundred rupees extra, as salary to any employee, as long as he fits his values. On his uncle’s advice Ramprasad gets a job by exaggerating his Indian values by wearing an excessively short kurta pajama instead of his usual flashy shirts, using his full name without abbreviations, feigning ignorance of music and sports and demonstrating professionalism.

Plot:

The film explores the complicated relationship between a Hindu Telugu assistant director, Karthik, and a Malayali Christian girl, Jessie. Karthik, a young filmmaker, falls in love with Jessie only to be met by her neglectance; and as he pursues to get her attentions and everything she does excites him. Jessie, however, is more shocked than impressed. With her conservative background: Malayali Christians from Alappuzha, her family will never consent to this and all Karthik’s pursuits are rebuffed every time. They make a tentative arrangement to be just friends, but a train journey shows them that cannot happen. Finally, Jessie tells him flatly that she’s going to get married, and nothing can stop the wedding. Life turns upside down for Karthik once again and the crux of the plot is whether he manages to convince Jessie to marry him.

Firstly, credit and two thumbs up to director Chimbudeven to make such a movie that needs a lot of effort and specially attention to detail. He has brought out a wholesome entertainer.
